All grade levels will be a “Home- based” catechesis with no on-site meetings. Lessons will make use of and include a combination of the student grade level textbook, online interactive resources from our publisher (Loyola Press), and family friendly, parent-led discussions based on the lesson’s theme and correlated to Cardinal DiNardo's Lifelong Learning Framework for the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.
Student textbooks and other parent support materials will be provided for each registered student. In addition to the textbook materials, the CCE staff will provide recorded video and/or print resources that will be emailed to parents weekly providing simple, easy to use lessons in the home. You may chose to do lessons on a weekly basis, several lessons at one setting on a weekend, or some other preference of your choice. The option is yours to do what works best for your family.
Four (4) virtual parent meetings will be held throughout the year and will be required to assess and direct learning with the student and family.
A virtual Parent Orientaiton Meeting for CCE Kickoff will be held the week of September 20, following Catechetical Sunday. (Date to be announced.)
We firmly believe families with multiple age children and already full schedules will find that this format will offer a great deal of flexibility as lessons may be customized to a timeframe that fits your family’s individual situation. The formation staff is here to help and will be in regular communication and available to assist and support your student and your family throughout the year.
