Greetings brothers and sisters,
As we move towards Thanksgiving break, there is truly much to be thankful for! After the financial report a few weeks earlier, a generous anonymous donor approached us afterwards and offered to pay off the rest of the building loan note for the Church! This generosity truly left me speechless. May God bless us always and guide us in his providence.
As you might remember, about a few months to a year ago, Fr. Victor began talking about doing some further development of the campus. He had met with the Archdiocese and consultants to begin this process. As the process got started, that was when he received the news that he would be assigned to St. Joseph & St. Stephen parishes. Needless to say, I am now left with the task of picking up where Fr. Victor left off on this project.
As some may know, the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston has been undergoing their own archdiocese-wide capital campaign called Ignite. Each parish is expected to participate in this campaign and Most Holy Trinity is slated to begin next January. Due to me being new here, and I am still getting to know the parish and everyone, this will not happen in January right away, thank God. But it will be pushed back a few months to give me time to catch up.
With input from the parishioners and other consultants, Fr. Victor had decided that Most Holy Trinity would do a joint capital campaign with the Archdiocese, where we would expand the current campus to make more room for our various ministries including the youth. I have recently spoken with the architects that Fr. Victor was working with and we have decided to do a comprehensive survey and master plan of the parish.
As I have only been here for four and a half months, I ask for your help in this process to share your thoughts and desires. On the weekend of December 14th & 15th, we will have survey for everyone to fill out and give their input. I’m excited to learn of what you think about our future, perhaps what’s been working and hasn’t been working well in the present and to walk with you in building something great that your children and grandchildren can be a part of in the future.
So that in all things God may be glorified!
Ut in omnibus glorificetur Deus.
Fr. Khoi
