Greetings brothers and sisters,
As we move forward with Advent, we look forward to Christmas with great hope. Hope is the virtue of trusting in the promises of God and his work in the world. Next week, at all the Sunday Masses, there will also be another opportunity to hope. As I mentioned in previous announcements and notebook entries, we will have a parish wide comprehensive survey to discern and plan for the future of Most Holy Trinity. This is a great opportunity for us to listen to each other and to share our thoughts in a constructive and helpful way.
With the help of an architectural company, and with your input and thoughts, I believe we can begin to clarify a vision for the future of our parish here in Angleton. To be sure that we get a chance to hear everyone’s thoughts, we will also have the survey online in order that those who will not be at the Masses on Dec. 14th and 15th can also have a chance to respond. I pray that our parish may move forward with one heart and mind guided by the Holy Spirit.
Also during this time of Advent, as I said in my homily on the First Sunday of Advent, it is a good time to prepare our souls for the coming of Christ by going to confession. We will have our parish-wide Penance Service at 7pm on Wednesday, December 18th. Because of preparations for this, there will not be Spanish Daily Mass that Wednesday, and no confessions on Thursday, the next day. We should have priests from around the deanery coming so that you can receive the sacrament of penance well.
I pray that your Advent is going well, and that you are making a space not only in your homes but in your souls for Christ as well.
Pax,
Fr. Khoi
